'SOFNT' eco-friendly antiviral material Biblotech
Increase in commercialization of so-called cosmetic materials and medical materials
Mass production, price competitiveness...increasing domestic and international demand
[Apparel News Reporter Park Hae-young] The cosmetics and medical materials market is on the rise.
It is a functional material, also known as carewear material, that adheres closely to the human body and affects the feeling of wearing and health. In the past, there were limitations to market expansion due to the difficulty of self-development and high price, but some companies have become price competitive by importing raw materials and processing them into domestic yarn or developing yarn in partnership with overseas companies.
Cosmetic fibers are materials that contain cosmetic ingredients in fabric, and when the fabric comes into contact with the skin, they provide the effect of applying cosmetics. They began to be released in Europe, including France and Germany, about 10 years ago, but were only used by some luxury brands due to their high price, but recently, as they have become price competitive, they are expanding to denim and casual wear.
As mass production of cosmetic raw materials and yarns becomes possible, demand in the domestic yoga wear and comfort underwear industries is also increasing.
Jintex, which mainly deals with yoga wear materials, has launched collagen fabric 'Cosmin' and entered the cosmetics market. 'Cosmin' is a fiber that mixes collagen yarn with domestic brand functional yarn. It adheres to the skin and has excellent moisturizing function and the best touch, so it can be applied to underwear and children's clothing. It also has excellent deodorizing and anti-static functions.

At Hyosung’s suggestion, new concept materials are being developed by grafting with yarns such as Aqua, Askin, Aero Cool, and Aero Warm. In the future, additional fabrics that are effective for the skin, such as vitamins and milk, are planned to be released.
Grutex is introducing and developing 'Lux Skin'. It is a product that mixes natural ingredients such as aloe and patented ingredients such as silk amino and protein peptides, and produces them in the form of microcapsules and applies them to fabrics. It forms a moisture barrier, regulates pH, and provides a moisturizing effect.
Hwasun Tech has developed 'Collagentex', which combines collagen amino acid extracted from fish scales with nylon using nanotechnology. It is also developing its own underwear brand 'Col Skin'.
Cosmetics manufacturer Cosmax is also working with textile research institute Daitech Research Institute to commercialize cosmetic fibers. In addition, Sammok Fiber and others have entered this market.
Underwear companies such as 'Danseok' are actively applying cosmetics. They are releasing collagen bra tops, panties, etc.
Medical textiles are becoming more diverse as they have come into the spotlight during the pandemic.
Medical Workwear 'ATVLO'
SOFNT is expanding its business of 'VIBLOTEC', an eco-friendly antiviral material that uses nano membrane technology. It is launching and fostering medical clothing 'ATVLO' and medical shoes 'Vlomfy' that use VIBLOTEC.
After successfully attracting investment twice, the company successfully attracted 1 billion won in pre-A investment in June. It was selected as the 5th Style Tech of the Design Promotion Agency and received 40 million won in support.
B2B transactions are also active, such as supplying KMI Screening Center screening suits and dustproof suits to a Vietnamese semiconductor factory in August.
Product inquiries from overseas companies are also increasing, and from this month to next month, we will participate in the German-American new material exhibition and the Portland, USA 'fff' exhibition with global sportswear material suppliers. This time, we have already requested consultations from Under Armour, Lululemon, Salomon, etc., to which we have provided samples, and we will hold meetings on site.
