On the 6th, the Gimhae Life Insurance and Industry Promotion Agency (hereinafter referred to as the Promotion Agency) visited Seinmedi (CEO Jeong In-ho) Factory 1 in Hallim-myeon, Gimhae, and inspected the development of convergence products of medical devices and pharmaceuticals and the progress of GMP certification. This visit included on-site encouragement from Director Kim Jong-wook and the establishment of a factory to increase production volume following the completion of new product development according to GMP certification by Seinmedi Co., Ltd., a beneficiary of the 'K-Biohealth Regional Center Support Project' of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute. This is to understand the urgent difficulties faced by companies and further attract excellent companies to the Gimhae region. Kim Jong-wook, director of the Promotion Agency, communicated with the employees of Seinmedi Co., Ltd. and said that it is time to play the role of a government-funded research institute to support small and medium-sized companies. Sein Medi Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong In-ho) introduced the newly developed ‘Sterilized Purified Water Pack with Nanofiber Filter (Product Name: Sein O₂ Gauge), (Portable Oxygen Generator)’ that can prevent cross-infection.
The sterilized purified water pack maintains constant humidity through a filter made of nanofiber material (membrane), and is a product that can sterilize both the distilled water inside the container and the external surface. It was announced that it will begin sales as a product capable of complete sterilization. CEO Jeong said, “In addition to developing the product, we completed the development by considering the improvement of the attachment and detachment method and the user’s feeling of use. From the business idea, we planned and preempted domestic and overseas delivery hospitals to launch the product, and upon completion of the product development, “We are planning to deliver to five major hospitals across the country, including Seoul National University Hospital, Severance Hospital, and Asan Medical Center in Seoul,” he said. He expressed his feelings, saying, “I want to come down to Gimhae and help companies that are having difficulty developing sales channels, such as supplying and exporting within the region.” In particular, the filter of the oxygen generator installed this time is manufactured and supplied by SOFNT Inc. (CEO Han Seol-ah), and has an exclusive filter contract with Seinmedi Co., Ltd.
SOFNT Inc. is a start-up company with nanofiber-based new material filter technology (membrane). It has CLASS 6 level virus blocking properties and blocks fine harmful substances such as bacteria, ultrafine dust, and chemicals, while also blocking air, water vapor, and other harmful substances. They are introducing products based on new materials that provide barrier properties and breathability by selectively permeating the same fluid. Director Kim Jong-wook of the Promotion Agency said, “This corporate visit will ensure that Seinmedi Co., Ltd.’s Gimhae Hallim factory does not leave our region, and that not only Seinmedi Co., Ltd. but also companies with next-generation technological competitiveness such as SOFNT Inc. can relocate and grow into ‘star companies.’ “Gimhae Life Insurance and the Korea Industry Promotion Agency will also play a role in attracting investment,” he said.
